About the position

The Application & Quality Engineer role focuses on providing technical support and quality assurance for a fastening system manufacturer. The position involves advising external customers, testing product applications, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations and standards. The engineer will also participate in product development, quality strategy optimization, and training content creation, all while maintaining high-quality standards in product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out customer advice for external customers including craftsmen, distributors, and planning offices.
  • Testing product applications in relation to construction and structural conditions.
  • Providing support and advice for complex constructions during project planning and implementation.
  • Creating static preliminary measurements for product segments.
  • Processing complaints and providing associated technical support and advice.
  • Developing training content and processes based on technical developments and operational requirements.
  • Participating in the development of components for customer-specific requirements.
  • Planning and implementing tests, investigations, and test series.
  • Recording and monitoring complaints and processing critical damage cases.
  • Participating in the conception and optimization of the quality strategy and implementing relevant measures.
  • Maintaining and developing management systems in cooperation with specialist functions and central quality management.
  • Further developing and defining incoming goods inspection processes.
  • Carrying out regular reporting.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil or Mechanical) or a related field.
  • Experience in quality audits, properties testing, and writing technical reports.
  • Ability to interact with customers on day-to-day technical requests.
  • Familiarity with approvals such as Miami-Dade, ICC, FM is an asset but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software or similar engineering software.
  • Ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to enhance knowledge of product quality improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of the fastener market is an asset.

  • Familiarity with approvals such as Miami-Dade, ICC, FM.
