About the position

As an Application Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with application engineering procedures during the onboarding of new Application Engineers. Your responsibilities will include providing insightful feedback to the Lead Application Engineer regarding the performance of Application Engineer I trainees, assessing their progress against established job requirements and goals. You will be expected to exhibit outstanding communication and mentoring skills, making training and onboarding a dynamic part of your daily routine. In this position, you will thoroughly and accurately determine the technical and commercial requirements of various applications. This involves selecting the perfect products to meet these needs and developing precise cost models for both standard and custom equipment. You will also be responsible for setting competitive pricing levels and realistic lead times, ensuring that all requirements are effectively communicated to the internal engineering and manufacturing teams. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the Sales Team to develop and present compelling customer sales strategies. You will partner with customers and the Engineering team to create innovative custom solutions that satisfy application requirements. Managing the commercial and technical aspects of customer relationships will require a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to build and nurture strong relationships with internal resources and the Sales Team. Timely and effective communication, both verbally and in writing, will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Champion compliance with application engineering procedures during AE onboarding.
  • Provide insightful feedback to the Lead Application Engineer regarding the performance of Application Engineer I in training, assessing their progress against job requirements and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or technical degree.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in an Application Engineering role working directly at an OEM.
