About the position

The Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in providing product sales support and addressing technical requirements for customers. This position involves researching customer needs, coordinating internal resources for presentations and demonstrations, and ensuring that product solutions align with customer specifications. The engineer will also prepare bids, manage project documentation, and maintain communication with various departments to fulfill contracts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations.
  • Represent the product to customers at field events such as conferences and tradeshows.
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs/RFPs/ITTs.
  • Attract potential customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting additional products.
  • Recommend potential products or services to management by analyzing customer needs.
  • Prepare, design, and plan effective professional product demonstrations.
  • Continuously update customers on product modifications and enhancements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotations, proposals, and Sales Orders.
  • Work in a fast-paced, self-directed professional environment.
  • Influence cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Cooperate with the Sales Manager to determine strategic sales approaches.
  • Attend production meetings to report on customer expectations and project status.
  • Implement Conax Nuclear's NQA Program, including review of customer Purchase Order requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work with minimal direction in a dynamic technical organization.
  • Strong presentation skills and professional written communication.
  • Organizational and analytical skills with creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled negotiator with high initiative.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product applications and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technical organization with a geographically dispersed customer base.
