About the position
The Application Security Developer at CGI Federal is responsible for developing and maintaining both new and existing applications while ensuring their security. This role involves evaluating software written in various languages, scanning for security vulnerabilities, and remediating issues. The successful candidate will work on multiple projects within the Federal government and will be part of a high-performing team that values innovation and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain new and existing applications.
- Troubleshoot software defects and enhance existing applications.
- Identify security gaps and develop new secure solutions.
- Evaluate software security scans and produce enhancement plans based on results.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with non-technical staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field.
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in software development, particularly with C#, Java, and Python.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with additional programming languages and technologies.
