About the position

The Application Security Engineer role is a full-time position based south of Boston, focusing on both application security and development. The successful candidate will be tasked with identifying vulnerabilities and developing solutions to enhance security within the IT environment, collaborating closely with technical leads to ensure best practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Discover and analyze security vulnerabilities within the system
• Develop and enforce security best practices for software development
• Perform security audits, risk assessments, and code reviews
• Collaborate with other tech leads to ensure the security of the IT environment
• Handle vulnerability management and scanning tasks
• Leverage knowledge of Oracle and PL/SQL to enhance overall system security
• Work on application security team initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of detail oriented experience in the role of an Application Security Engineer or similar positions
• Familiarity with Backup Technologies
• Proficient in Cluster Analysis
• Familiarity with various application security tools such as Veracode, SonarQube, DataDog, Quixxi, Rapid7, etc.
• Programming experience, ideally in Java
• Expertise in Application Security
• Knowledge and experience in Web Application Security
