About the position

The Application Security IT Developer position at ARC Group is a remote contract role focused on enhancing application security and maintaining software applications. The developer will work with various programming languages and frameworks, ensuring applications are secure, up-to-date, and meet business needs. Responsibilities

• Write and maintain applications using JavaScript (Node/React), Java (Springboot), and Python.
• Ensure applications and dependencies are up-to-date and reduce vulnerabilities identified in SAST/DAST scans.
• Participate in design meetings and consult with clients to refine, test, and debug programs.
• Document detailed system specifications and conduct performance testing for applications.
• Include IT controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.

Requirements

• Strong skills with React and Node, especially in dependency management and large upgrades.
• Experience with web application security and Java/Gradle.
• Proficiency in the MERN stack and keeping applications up-to-date.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as React.Js, Node.JS, JavaScript, and HTML.
• Knowledge of databases including SQL and noSQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of common web application vulnerabilities and vulnerability frameworks.
• Familiarity with Risk Rating (CVSS, Qualitative analysis, Quantitative Analysis).
• Experience in various domains such as Health Care and Financial.
• Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
