About the position

ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a leading provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services, particularly focused on real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are currently seeking highly motivated Software Engineers to join our team in Moorestown, NJ, where you will play a crucial role in the continued development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy's Aegis Weapons System. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing agile software development methodologies. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software maintenance and upgrade solutions for tactical systems. You will engage in all activities associated with the software development lifecycle, ensuring that all process requirements and reviews are met. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our defense systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in Open/Layered Architecture Environments and real-time system data analysis. You will work closely with a team of engineers, contributing to the design, development, and integration of software solutions that are critical to the success of the Aegis Weapons System. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness and reliability of defense operations, making this a highly rewarding position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software maintenance and upgrade solutions for tactical systems on a collaborative agile team.
  • Engage in all activities associated with the software development lifecycle.
  • Support all process requirements and reviews as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field, or equivalent related work experience.
  • US Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • 2-4 years' experience in software development, maintenance, or support in an Open/Layered Architecture Environment.
  • Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience developing software with Agile scaled principles.
  • Experience with Object Oriented design/development including the employment of Design Patterns.
  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments.
  • Strong skills with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse.
  • Familiar with UML syntax and its use.
  • Familiar with driver-based and automated test environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Clearcase (Version Control Software).
  • Experience with JIRA (Project Management Tool).
  • Experience with xUnit Framework, Junit and CPPUnitLite.
  • Familiarity with CMMI Level 5 Life Cycle Processes and Procedures.
  • Experience with Assemblers.
