About the position

The Application Software Developer at Blue Origin plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining software solutions that support the company's mission of enabling safe and cost-effective space exploration. This position requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality, as the developer will work on mission-critical applications that enhance operational efficiency across various business functions. Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across Blue.
  • Create new applications that improve how Blue operates.
  • Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Deep dive into your users' problems to find and create efficient solutions.
  • Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Manage the CostPoint, Coupa and/or ExoStar solutions, including implementing modifications and running deployments.
  • Build integrations between CostPoint, Coupa and/or ExoStar and custom applications used across Blue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software.
  • Experience in full stack development.
  • 2+ years of experience working with CostPoint, Coupa or ExoStar in a professional environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Programming experience in Java, Python, or similar object-oriented language.
  • Experience with CostPoint, Coupa and/or ExoStar modules.
  • 1+ years of rigorous experience building single page web applications.
  • Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts.
  • Expertise in designing software systems.
  • Deep understanding of testing, build, deployment & monitoring.
  • Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript framework.
  • Database experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar database technologies.
