About the position

Brunswick, a global marine leader, is seeking a Software Engineering intern to join Mercury Marine in the design and development of software that interacts with engine hardware. This internship is an engineering position that will involve working on various applications including Desktop, Mobile, Web, and Cloud. The intern will be part of a high-performance team that values collaboration, quality, and efficiency in delivering results. The ideal candidate is energetic and passionate about developing high-quality software solutions. As a Mobile Application Software Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to architect, design, develop, and implement mission-critical applications using .NET technologies. You will be responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable, and high-performing production applications that cater to users across the globe. Additionally, you will build internal systems and support team needs with your domain expertise while leveraging your existing skills and learning new technologies. The role will require close collaboration with various engineering teams and business stakeholders, and you will have the chance to work in and around watercraft. This internship will provide a great hands-on learning experience, allowing you to acquire skills in selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, developing functional requirements and user stories, conducting data analysis, documenting and authenticating testing results, and technical report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and implement mission-critical applications using .NET.
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, high-performing production applications for global users.
  • Build internal systems and support team needs with domain expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with various engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Work in and around watercraft.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cross-platform iOS and Android mobile development, cloud technologies, web applications and services, and embedded firmware including C# and Microsoft suite (.NET MAUI, Azure).
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
  • Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during the summer of 2025.
  • Creative ability with strong software aptitude.
  • Permanent US Work Authorization required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Bluetooth and JSON.
