About the position

The Application Support Analyst role is focused on providing support for the Foreign Exchange and Rates business within the IT department. This position involves working closely with traders, sales, and e-business partners to deliver and support solutions in a DevOps environment. The analyst will troubleshoot functional and technical issues, manage crisis communications, and ensure quality support for various financial applications used in trading and sales operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely resolution of functional and technical issues and report incidents to the appropriate chain of command.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues in a complex financial environment with various applications and architecture regionally and/or globally.
  • Manage crisis communications with end-users and senior management.
  • Provide functional and technical expertise to produce and promote maintainable and quality solutions, including documenting system requirements and support run books.
  • Communicate with users regarding application outages and upcoming events like releases and projects.
  • Liaise with development/support teams in Bangalore, New York, Montreal, Paris, and London.
  • Respond to end users within the timeframe dictated by the severity of the problem, documenting and tracking case histories, issues, and action steps.
  • Respect internal IT norms, standards, and processes.
  • Timely reporting of production and project status to client and IT management.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing, with various audiences at appropriate levels.
  • Partner with development teams on release management.
  • Partner with global support teams to ensure quality support to end users.
  • Effectively manage the client relationship with the end-user community.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of risk calculation and derivatives pricing.
  • Knowledge of current US financial regulations (Dodd Frank, FINRA, FATCA Reporting, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of the financial industry and standard processes (Front office, Middle Office duties).
  • Experience in financial products (Fixed Income) and financial industry business processes/trading systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, follow-up capability, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people/functions (verbal/written).
  • Proactive and results-oriented, capable of setting goals and priorities to maximize resource use.
  • Autonomous, capable of prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking projects.
  • Team-oriented, client-focused, and open to different ideas/viewpoints.
