About the position

The Application Support Engineer role at Siemens Industry Software Inc. involves interfacing with customer engineers and managers to enhance complex engineering design and manufacturing processes. This position requires the use of computer-aided systems to assist in large-scale design tasks, communicate software issues to product development, and provide technical guidance to customers. The role also includes preparing technical documentation and presentations, as well as mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with top-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes.
  • Use computer-aided systems to assist and instruct lead customer engineers on large scale, complex design and tooling tasks.
  • Communicate software problems to product development.
  • Assist other engineers in the design, development, and implementation of large scale, complex graphical application programs on multiple software products and hardware platforms.
  • Provide business and technical feedback to software and hardware vendors.
  • Use advanced data exchange methodologies to facilitate effective data sharing between dissimilar systems or applications that span across engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical guidance to lead customer engineers in the application of complex design techniques and system procedures related to computer-aided engineering software.
  • Prepare in-depth technical papers and presentations to customer management.
  • Guide junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 36 months of experience in the job offered or in an Engineering-related occupation.
  • Experience in Design-for-Test implementation.
  • Developing and deploying a hierarchical design-for-test implementation flow including scan insertion, automatic test pattern generation and verification.
  • Built-in-Self-Test Memory test implementation and verification.
  • Creating DFT flow test cases to apply design for test functionality and verification.
  • Debugging software bugs and providing explanations to a software development team.
  • Writing, interpreting, and debugging Verilog.
  • Writing and debugging TCL scripts.
  • Performing real silicon debug.
