About the position

The Trading Application Support Engineer will provide real-time support for the front office market risk production environment in Chandler, AZ. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of financial applications across U.S. markets, requiring quick assimilation of information and effective problem-solving skills in a high-pressure banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Support global markets risk and batch systems with a focus on in-house developed Java applications on UNIX.
• Act as the first point of contact for front office personnel to resolve issues with risk analysis and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with users to address queries and raise development requests as needed.
• Escalate and resolve production issues promptly using problem management disciplines.
• Liaise between application users and technology teams to address user queries and issues.
• Analyze new requirements or improvements based on user feedback and analysis.
• Develop and maintain documentation for training and incident management.

Requirements

• Enterprise production support experience in Level 2 and/or 3 Incident, Problem, Release management support.
• Ability to manage oneself in a high-pressure environment with frequent business and technology changes.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with UNIX/Linux OS, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and applications developed in Java or Python.
• Scripting knowledge in UNIX/Linux OS for automating tasks using shell, bash, Perl, or Python.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with application monitoring tools such as Geneos ITRS.
• Familiarity with batch job scheduling tools like Autosys.
