About the position

The Application Support Engineer will play a crucial role in the Wealth Management Application Support team, focusing on providing technical support and solutions for various software systems and applications. This position requires collaboration with development teams, business support, and end users to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of applications, while also fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the development team, business support, end users, and other IT personnel to support and implement end-to-end solutions.
• Use basic programming knowledge to create or modify scripts and programs.
• Look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing a solution, challenging the status quo when appropriate.
• Mentor and coach others on the team.
• Support existing software systems and platforms and hook in applications to applicable data sources.
• Write both unit and integration tests and develop automation tools for daily tasks.
• Create and maintain Disaster Recovery plans and participate in DR Testing.
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to understand the application that is being transferred to support.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in application support or related field.
• Proficiency in Windows Servers and Desktop environments.
• Experience with SQL/Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of Middleware Web Services and Web Applications.
• Familiarity with APIs and their practical applications.
• Understanding of Windows infrastructure, specifically in domain groups from a software support perspective.
• Basic knowledge of directory security and permissions, as well as networking concepts such as firewall rules, VPN, and access lists.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Java and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
• Familiarity with HCL Notes and Oracle Web-Logic.
