About the position

The Trading Application Support Engineer will provide critical support for the front office market risk production environment, focusing on real-time financial application support across U.S. markets. This role is essential in a high-pressure banking environment, requiring quick assimilation of information and adherence to strict procedures for incident, service request, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Support global markets risk and batch systems, particularly in-house developed Java applications on UNIX.
• Act as the first point of contact for front office personnel to resolve issues with risk analysis and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with users to address queries and raise development requests as needed.
• Escalate and ensure timely resolution of production issues using problem management disciplines.
• Serve as a liaison between application users and technology teams to resolve user queries and issues.
• Analyze new requirements or improvements based on user feedback and analysis.
• Develop and maintain documentation for training and incident management.

Requirements

• Enterprise production support experience in Level 2 and/or 3 Incident, Problem, and Release management support.
• Ability to manage oneself in a high-pressure environment with frequent business and technology changes.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with UNIX/Linux OS, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and applications developed in Java or Python.
• Scripting knowledge in UNIX/Linux for automating tasks using shell, bash, Perl, or Python.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with application monitoring tools such as Geneos ITRS.
• Familiarity with batch job scheduling tools like Autosys.
