About the position

The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for resolving complex issues related to Gensler's proprietary products and integrated vendor applications. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and escalating incidents while collaborating with various teams to provide effective solutions. The engineer will analyze data and logs, reproduce customer issues, and maintain a knowledge base of known issues and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex issues involving Gensler proprietary products and vendor-based integrated applications.
  • Report, troubleshoot, diagnose, and escalate incidents and requests as needed.
  • Collaborate with Data Platform and IT teams to provide solutions to customer problems.
  • Analyze data, log files, Event Logs, and thread dumps.
  • Reproduce customer issues, including setting up and configuring runtime environments.
  • Identify and document product defects for review and report to QA and Development teams or Vendors.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of known issues and solutions by each application.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Technology Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of IT work experience with specific technologies and tools.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, Azure cloud platform, SQL, Windows and Linux Server environments, ETL tools (SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory, SSRS, Tableau, Alteryx).
  • Using Fork and SourceTree clients to interact with GitHub version control.
  • Using Skybot and Jenkins automation tools to schedule jobs and deployments.
  • Validating, troubleshooting, and resolving data, process, and performance issues using SnapLogic, SSIS, QuerySurge, and Azure Data Studio.
  • GitHub integration and code management experience.
  • Jenkins integration and server management experience.
  • Programming in PowerShell, Python, and Groovy, and debugging issues related to SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory, and Tableau.
  • Code migration and SQL Scripting with SQL Server.
