About the position

The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of multiple applications within a manufacturing environment. This long-term contract position involves acting as an application owner, managing support tickets, and coordinating with vendors for application modifications. The role requires collaboration with a skilled team to support various systems and ensure timely updates and patches to avoid system interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a primary owner of multiple applications, ensuring their proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Handling support tickets efficiently and effectively to resolve issues.
  • Ensuring applications are updated and patched in a timely manner to avoid any potential system interruptions.
  • Coordinating with the application vendor for any modifications that need to be handled externally.
  • Utilizing ServiceNow for ticketing and project management tasks.
  • Providing Tier 1 through 4 support, escalating issues to the application vendor when necessary.
  • Following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for any updates or patches, acting as a Project Manager when required.
  • Rotating application focus periodically to ensure all systems are adequately supported.
  • Gaining experience in supporting specific systems such as Leakdoss and Limb systems.
  • Collaborating effectively with a team of 12 members with varying levels of experience in application support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Application Support
  • Proven experience with Project Management
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow Application
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM
  • Experience with Ticketing Systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in the Manufacturing industry preferred.
