About the position

As an Application Support Engineer at Siemens Industry Software Inc., you will play a crucial role in interfacing with top-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes tailored to customer needs. This position requires you to utilize computer-aided systems to assist and instruct lead customer engineers on large-scale, complex design and tooling tasks that involve multiple design environments. You will be responsible for communicating software problems to product development teams and assisting other engineers in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale, complex graphical application programs across various software products and hardware platforms. In this role, you will provide valuable business and technical feedback to software and hardware vendors, ensuring that the solutions provided meet the high standards expected by our customers. You will also employ advanced data exchange methodologies to facilitate effective data sharing between dissimilar systems or applications that span across different engineering disciplines. Your technical guidance will be essential for lead customer engineers as they apply complex design techniques and system procedures related to computer-aided engineering software. Additionally, you will prepare in-depth technical papers and presentations for customer management, showcasing your expertise and the solutions developed. As a mentor, you will guide junior engineers, helping them grow in their roles and ensuring the success of the projects you work on together.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with top-level customer engineers and managers to develop or enhance complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes.
  • Use computer-aided systems to assist and instruct lead customer engineers on large scale, complex design and tooling tasks involving multiple design environments.
  • Communicate software problems to product development.
  • Assist other engineers in the design, development, and implementation of large scale, complex graphical application programs on multiple software products and hardware platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 36 months of experience in the job offered or in an Engineering-related occupation.
  • Experience in Design-for-Test implementation.
  • Developing and deploying a hierarchical design-for-test implementation flow to include scan insertion, automatic test pattern generation and verification.
  • Built-in-Self-Test Memory test implementation and verification.
  • Creating DFT flow test cases to apply design for test functionality and verification.
  • Debugging software bugs and providing explanation to a software development team.
  • Writing, interpreting, and debugging Verilog.
  • Writing and debugging TCL scripts.
  • Performing real silicon debug.
