About the position

SMX is seeking a Windows Application System Administrator who will play a crucial role in designing, documenting, and installing innovative application solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization and its clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and translate them into effective application solutions. They will contribute to the design of scalable and efficient solutions that align with industry best practices and standards. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for creating and editing technical documentation for developed solutions, including system architecture, data flow diagrams, and user guides. They will communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to the installation and configuration of application solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving installation issues will be a key part of the job, requiring close collaboration with support teams and third-party vendors when necessary. The candidate will provide hands-on support during the implementation phase to ensure successful deployment and will work closely with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall system architecture and strategic goals. Additionally, the candidate will participate in cross-functional team meetings to gather insights, share progress, and contribute to continuous improvement. Conducting thorough testing of application solutions to identify and address any issues before deployment is also a critical responsibility. Effective communication skills are essential, as the candidate will need to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, working closely with support teams and third-party vendors when necessary
  • Provide hands-on support during the implementation phase to ensure successful deployment

Requirements

  • Available to work onsite at Patuxent River NAS
  • DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent, or greater)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with communicating technical concepts with stakeholders
