About the position

The Application System Administrator with Tandem Application is responsible for monitoring, recovery, and restart of application-related processes. This role involves customizing installation jobs, performing code promotions, and maintaining an automated scheduling system. The administrator will also resolve scheduling conflicts, monitor scheduled jobs, and ensure incident notifications are communicated effectively. Additionally, the position requires maintaining documentation and standards for code promotions and providing support for third-party applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor application-related end-user job submissions and perform recovery and restart as needed.
  • Customize installation jobs and scripts as required.
  • Support code promotion processes and maintain standards for code promotions.
  • Administer and maintain an automated scheduling system.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts with Hertz assistance and provide daily reports of conflicts.
  • Monitor scheduled batch jobs and cycles for performance and issues.
  • Invoke resolution and restart procedures in case of job failures.
  • Notify appropriate support teams of incidents and delays in batch production schedules.
  • Schedule on-request batch jobs per Hertz requests and fine-tune schedules based on execution statistics.
  • Document production application and system acceptance criteria and operational requirements.
  • Move application-related code between environments and maintain documentation for procedures.
  • Maintain a job scheduling database and history of job completion results.
  • Provide quality control for reprocessing activities and support third-party applications software.

Requirements

  • Must have experience with Tandem applications.
  • Strong knowledge of application monitoring and recovery processes.
  • Experience in customizing installation jobs and scripts.
  • Proficient in code promotion and maintaining standards.
  • Ability to administer automated scheduling systems.
  • Experience in incident notification and delay management.
  • Strong documentation skills for operational requirements and acceptance criteria.
