About the position

The Application System Analyst II position at the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is a hybrid role that involves performing complex analysis, design, development, testing, and support services for assigned applications. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of various applications within the healthcare system, which is dedicated to delivering high-quality care and innovative solutions. The analyst will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions related to daily operations, ensuring that any problems are addressed promptly and effectively. In this role, the analyst will participate in and oversee applications analysis and impact analysis of new or different applications, processes, or changes. This includes providing advanced application support and guidance to end users, as well as offering technical guidance to less experienced personnel. The analyst will serve as a point of contact for application problems, assessing issues and identifying resolutions to maintain operational efficiency. Additionally, the Application System Analyst II will develop testing scripts and participate in testing to ensure that applications function as intended. The role also involves making recommendations with some guidance and providing alternatives regarding various development and support initiatives. The analyst will be responsible for preparing written documentation of various types, including application documentation, analytical reports, functional specifications, training manuals, and status reports, which are essential for maintaining clear communication and understanding among team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and support services for assigned applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in application analysis and support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with application testing and development processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
