About the position

The position of Datapower Developer is a senior technical role that requires a high level of expertise in application development and implementation. The successful candidate will act as an individual contributor and/or team lead for complex computer applications and initiatives, utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. This role involves working on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. The candidate will be responsible for planning, performing, and acting as the escalation point for complex platform designs, coding, and testing. Additionally, the role includes leading multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts, serving as an expert technical resource to programming staff throughout the program development, testing, and implementation process. The LendingGrid middleware platform currently hosts over 200 business services and integration solutions, processing more than 2 billion annual transactions. A key capability of this platform is the Integration Bus (ESB), realized through IBM Datapower XI-50/XI-52 appliances. The team is seeking a strong technical candidate with substantial experience in developing integration solutions on Datapower, particularly with advanced XSLT skills. The selected candidate will take on hands-on analysis, design, and development responsibilities, leading integration projects using various architectural styles on the Lending Grid platform, including SOAP/WSDL, REST, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) through the Lending Grid Integration Bus. The role also involves designing and documenting complex technical integration solutions, developing and implementing these solutions, and managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through multiple non-production and production environments, including the automation of deployments. Furthermore, the candidate will provide support for Level 1 and Level 2 teams, ensuring smooth operation and troubleshooting as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior technical developer with hands-on analysis, design, and development responsibilities.
  • Lead integration projects using multiple architectural styles on the Lending Grid platform.
  • Design and document complex technical integration solutions.
  • Develop and implement complex solutions.
  • Manage the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of solutions through multiple non-production and production environments, including automation of deployments.
  • Provide support for Level 1 and Level 2 teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of application development and implementation experience.
  • Experience and technical knowledge of web services, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and Enterprise Service Buses (ESB).
  • Experienced WebSphere Datapower XI-52 solution developer.
  • Expertise in XML, XSLT, and XPATH.
  • Experience using and writing various scripting languages (Unix shell, Python, Ant, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SOMA, SOAP, REST/ROA interfaces.
  • At least 4 years of Web Services architecture, design, development, and integration skills on a Java/J2EE platform.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with an excellent understanding of system development methodologies, techniques, and tools.
  • Very strong soft skills (written/oral communication, customer service, team player, self-starter, proactive, problem solver, ability to work independently without much direction).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with general security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signatures), PKI concepts, and SSL.
  • DataPower troubleshooting, services instrumentation, monitoring, and logging.
  • Experience with various tools including SoapUI and JMeter.
  • Experience with version control systems such as CVS and SVN.
  • Experience with developing messaging solutions using IBM WebSphere MQ.
  • Experience opening PMR and trouble tickets to IBM.
  • Experience with performance testing, monitoring, and tuning.
