About the position

The Application Systems Analyst - II IS Inpatient & Adt at Dartmouth-Hitchcock plays a crucial role in the analysis, development, and implementation of new systems as well as the revision of existing systems. This position is integral to ensuring that the information systems meet the operational needs of the organization. The analyst will be responsible for providing project management for assigned special projects and coordinating programming resources for all applications. This role requires a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of applications and the operational workflows within the department, ensuring that the systems are effectively utilized and maintained. In this position, the analyst will function as a liaison between various Information Systems (IS) teams and business partners, maintaining project tracking information to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. The analyst will also participate in requirements gathering and documentation, providing analysis functions in support of new or upgraded vendor and in-house computing systems. This includes participating in the development, testing, and follow-up evaluation of system designs and projects, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and securely. The analyst will assist departments in managing application systems, developing systems to maintain security for all supported applications. They will co-lead projects associated with the application, communicating technical updates to the team and providing second and third-level support, including maintenance activities. The role also involves independently triaging and resolving level 1 and level 2 support issues, providing training and assistance to team members, and participating in an on-call rotation for project work that may require off-hours, weekend, and holiday availability. Other duties may be assigned as required, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as liaison with other IS teams and business partners and maintains project tracking information.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the technical aspects of applications, as well as the operational details, workflows, and how applications are used in the department.
  • Provides analysis functions in support of new or upgraded vendor, in-house computing systems and special projects. Participates in requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Participates in the development, testing, and follow-up evaluation of system design and projects.
  • Assists departments in applications system management functions. Develops a system to ensure the effective maintenance of security for all applications supported.
  • Co-lead project(s) associated with the application with oversight by their lead/supervisor/manager. Communicate technical updates to the team.
  • Second and third level support (including maintenance activities). Independently triage and resolve level 1 and level 2 support issues.
  • Provides training and assistance to team members.
  • On-call rotation and some project work requiring off hours, weekend, and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in systems analysis and project management.
  • Strong understanding of application development and implementation processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with vendor and in-house computing systems.
  • Knowledge of security protocols for application management.
