About the position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an Application Systems Engineer to join the Digital Strategy Project team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is pivotal in expanding our digital presence through innovative technologies. As part of a fast-paced, information-driven environment, the successful candidate will be at the forefront of entrepreneurial projects that aim to transform banking experiences for our customers. The Application Systems Engineer will be responsible for administering and configuring authentication flows and other critical experiences across various technology platforms. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about application services and is committed to delivering high-quality solutions that enhance user experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to design and develop complex applications. You will create templates and components within third-party solutions, implement automation, and adhere to ITSM best practices. Your responsibilities will also include documenting business processes, application flows, and conducting security assessments. Staying current with industry trends and participating in Agile methodologies will be essential to your success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in JSON, application administration, and a solid understanding of authentication best practices. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to provide excellent customer and peer experiences on technologies you help support.
  • Create templates and components within various third-party solutions/platforms and implement to accomplish business objectives.
  • Create solutions, reporting, experiences and/or automation leveraging various technologies (e.g., JSON, JavaScript).
  • Adhere to ITSM best practices (e.g., Change, Incident, Knowledge, etc.).
  • Document, demo and showcase features to stakeholders and/or customers.
  • Document business process, application, and data flows.
  • Research, analyze and recommend technology configuration, functionality, and administration solutions for our various digital solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and methodologies.
  • Define and participate in SDLC activities.
  • Document applications, perform security assessments/reviews, define and participate in user governance and administration.
  • Stay current on industry and development latest trends and technologies.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience with JSON, YAML or other popular data exchange format.
  • 6+ years of experience administering applications (e.g., incident response, change requests, user administration, configuration, etc.).
  • Effective communication and documentation skills (e.g., BPMN).
  • Working knowledge of GitHub.
  • Candidates with in depth understanding of authentication best practices is preferred.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with public, private, and/or hybrid cloud implementations.
  • Understanding of OATH2 authentication flows a plus.
  • ServiceNow, or similar system administration experience a plus.
