About the position

The Senior Application Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in providing analytical and technical support for business applications, specifically focusing on tier 2 and tier 3 support. This position involves mentoring and coaching junior team members, as well as creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to application support and implementation. The analyst is responsible for ensuring application reliability by identifying systemic issues through thorough root cause analysis. In this role, the analyst will independently support, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage various applications. They will gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IT projects aimed at developing new solutions within a complex IT landscape. The analyst will also be tasked with testing, implementing, documenting, and supporting assigned core banking solutions, representing the Information Systems department in meetings and projects related to Fiserv Signature functional and technical capabilities. The position requires the analyst to interact with Fiserv to resolve issues and implement projects effectively. They will create post-implementation and deployment documentation for operations and internal customers, manage project plans, and drive the resolution of issues through problem-solving and resource identification. Additionally, the analyst will triage support incidents and escalate high-priority events to the appropriate groups, while also creating and maintaining architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams using tools like Microsoft Visio. The analyst will facilitate sessions with internal customers to assess business needs and collaborate with a team to find solutions. They will support ETL solutions using SQL Query and other relevant tools, analyze and improve the efficiency of various systems and services, and map data from one core system to another to support conversion activities. Close collaboration with tier 1 technical support teams is essential to ensure that the team meets business expectations. Furthermore, the analyst will mentor application support analysts and business partners, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering with a programming concentration and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Associate's Degree with at least 6 years of work experience.
  • High School Diploma with at least 8 years of work experience.
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • 3 - 5 years of analytical experience with a financial institution.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with Fiserv Signature core banking software.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrable application production support experience using Fiserv technology stack or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of business rules for the core banking solution, Fiserv Signature.
  • Knowledge of core banking processes supporting lending, deposits, and investments.
  • Knowledge of relational data models and experience in writing SQL statements for relational database management systems.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving skills.
