About the position

At The Standard, we are seeking an experienced System Support Manager to lead and oversee our application system support functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service through effective management of our business system analysts (BSA) and the diverse set of vendor-hosted systems we utilize. As a System Support Manager, you will be responsible for streamlining processes, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring seamless delivery of application services across various departments. You will provide subject matter expertise and leadership to a team of BSAs, guiding them in their work with both in-house and third-party vendor application support to meet the varying needs of our organization. In this role, you will project manage the work of internal BSAs as well as third-party vendors, ensuring that deliverables, timelines, budgets, and scopes are met. You will perform root cause analysis for issues with applications and deliverables, creating, enhancing, and visualizing team roadmaps, planning, and capacity plans. Regular reporting on team and system performance will also be a key responsibility, allowing for continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals. Your leadership will be essential in driving best practices of application automation across the organization, ensuring that we remain agile and responsive to the needs of our business and our customers. Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of business system analysts (BSA) supporting vendor-hosted systems.
  • Streamline processes and optimize efficiency in application services delivery.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership to BSAs in application support.
  • Project manage the work of internal BSAs and third-party vendors, ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Perform root cause analysis for application issues and deliverables.
  • Create and enhance team roadmaps, planning, and capacity plans.
  • Provide regular reports or updates on team and system performance.
  • Guide leaders on best practices of application automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information services, mathematics, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in application analysis and design.
  • Experience working in employee benefits, insurance, or finance.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work west coast hours.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, HR, IT, and administrative processes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive change.
  • Experience with process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
