About the position

The Applications Administrator position is a highly technical role focused on supporting software applications and business processes within the government sector. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective administration and configuration of assigned software applications, technical interfaces, and to perform business analysis to maximize the value of these applications for Forsyth County. The position requires a strong background in software application administration, particularly in areas such as financial management, community development, and permitting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned software applications and ensure accuracy and integrity of applications and data.
  • Monitor software applications and maintain system/application documentation.
  • Build system user profiles, privileges, and security parameters; set up users on the server as authorized.
  • Implement security access for authorized users and manage user accessibility.
  • Utilize data to write various queries, reports, and dashboards to support business processes.
  • Write user test plans, conduct user acceptance testing, and resolve issues with configurations and workflows.
  • Provide Help Desk support to application users, troubleshoot and resolve problems, and document resolutions.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders to perform work activities and resolve issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.
  • Provide Tier 2 level support and on-call support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in application administration, data management, or software systems.
  • Experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, or SSRS reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and process automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tyler Munis, EnerGov, iasWorld, Odyssey, or water applications like Cogsdale and CityWorks.
  • Knowledge of government sector software applications.
