About the position

The Applications Developer I position at the Mississippi Library Commission involves developing and maintaining the agency's primary website and other websites for public libraries across the state. The role requires a motivated individual with a solid understanding of web development technologies and a willingness to learn new programming languages as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the state agency's primary website.
  • Support the development of websites for public libraries across the state.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services team members and Public Library Directors to discuss website needs and improvements.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in web development.
  • Strong understanding of PHP and HTML.
  • Experience with WordPress content management systems.
  • Knowledge of Next.js and NestJS frameworks.
  • Familiarity with NodeJS runtime environment and TypeScript programming language.
  • Experience with database management using SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
