About the position

The Applications Developer at Kent State University is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing modification of software applications within a moderately complex production environment. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain multiple moderately complex applications and programs.
  • Implement applications based on system life-cycle standards and IS Architectural and Security protocols.
  • Provide user support for multiple applications.
  • Develop application requirements based on business and technical requirements.
  • Work effectively with clients and team members to clarify and improve relationships.
  • Translate project scope and goals into detailed work plans with tasks and deadlines.
  • Monitor project plans to ensure progress and balance multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in computer science, technology, business administration, computer information systems, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management systems.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Java or C#.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
