About the position

The Applications Developer position at UW Health involves supporting troubleshooting hardware and software for Med Flight operations, managing critical alerting and communication systems, and collaborating with Information Services departments. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage various operating systems while contributing to a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support troubleshooting hardware and software for Med Flight operations
  • Provide secondary support to critical alerting and communication systems including Hospital Paging Systems, Nurse Call, Real Time Locating Systems, and Remote Support Tools
  • Work cross-functionally with Information Services departments
  • Manage and maintain various Windows Server and Linux operating systems
  • Communicate effectively with staff members to provide updates to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated success troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose technical problems in large-scale implementations
  • Demonstrated success translating business needs into operational requirements
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a Healthcare setting
  • Experience in Platforms such as EMS Charts, Flight Vector, ServiceNow, Spok, Stanley MobileView RTLS, Twilio, Bomgar, and xMatters
  • Experience in Network infrastructure services in a primarily Cisco equipped infrastructure
  • Experience in Designing, implementation and support of server infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of SQL; writing queries and understanding of how databases are structured
  • Experience in understanding of multiple radio frequency and real-time locating technologies
  • Understanding of IT Operations and Service Management best practice and the ITIL Framework
