About the position

The Applications Developer position is a long-term contract role based in Hartford, CT, requiring onsite presence twice a week. The role focuses on developing, deploying, and maintaining applications using the Microsoft .NET framework and Power Platform. Candidates must possess relevant certifications and demonstrate expertise in legacy system conversion, API integration, and data model design, ensuring efficient workflows and system performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in converting legacy .NET applications to the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing .NET legacy applications.
• Develop and implement robust API integration solutions.
• Collaborate with database administrators to design efficient data models.
• Exhibit expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Follow established development practices and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Valid certification in Microsoft .NET development.
• Certification in Microsoft Power Platform development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as VB.NET, Java/J2EE, and API development.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Pages, Portals).
• Hands-on experience in setting up Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and writing unit and feature tests.
• Ability to run and optimize SQL queries.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in operating systems, databases, application servers, programming languages, and network protocols.
• Relevant technical certifications or additional training in these areas.
