About the position

The Applications Developer role involves analyzing, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for commercial or end-user applications. The position requires collaboration with the software engineering division to perform detailed design based on specifications, assist in system planning, and enhance existing applications by building new features and resolving bugs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end-user applications.
  • Write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications.
  • Perform detailed design based on provided design or external specifications.
  • Assist in system planning, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Analyze system specifications and existing business processes and information systems.
  • Build enhancements including new product features and resolve bugs.
  • Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans.
  • Review integration and regression test plans created by QA.
  • Communicate and interact with QA and porting engineering to discuss minor changes to product functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in an Applications Developer-related occupation.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Shell, BASH, CSH, and Perl.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Clear Case, GIT, or Perforce, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Containerization.
  • Experience in building and executing unit tests and unit test plans.
  • Ability to develop integrated tests across technology components such as webtier or database.
  • Experience managing J2EE Applications on Weblogic Application Server.
  • Ability to debug Oracle Database queries and integrations with Shell or Python.
  • Knowledge of Weblogic, Apache, or Tomcat.
