About the position

The Applications Developer position at J5 Consulting involves maintaining existing legacy applications and supporting the transition to a new system architecture. The role is based in Reston, VA, and requires a strong background in full-stack development, particularly with Java, as well as experience in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of existing legacy applications.
• Support the transition to a new system architecture.
• Develop, implement, and maintain complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers in support of applications.
• Work in an Agile development environment.
• Design and deploy bug fixes written in C# to support an existing legacy system.

Requirements

• Significant years of Full Stack development experience, preferably with Java.
• Demonstrated experience with Java and JavaScript.
• Experience working on an application built on client/server based architecture.
• Proficiency in GitHub, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with ElasticSearch and ELK stack.
• Familiarity with the Sponsor's A&A process.
• Familiarity with DevOps.
• Demonstrated experience using C# software language.
