About the position

The Applications Developer position at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) involves managing electronic databases for the Bureau of Sustainability. The role focuses on the development and maintenance of application systems, ensuring data integrity and functionality, and supporting the Bureau's mission of environmental and fiscal sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the electronic database for the BEPA MS4 IC Unit.
  • Resolve technical/electronic issues affecting industrial/commercial facilities.
  • Work with the BEPA MS4 IC unit and Bureau of Information Technology to deliver MS4 application systems throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Perform system analysis and recommend data processing solutions.
  • Perform upgrades, maintenance, and installation of domain-based network applications.
  • Design and create MSSQL database systems, including data migration and monitoring for anomalies.
  • Create SSRS reports.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related field and one year of satisfactory full-time computer software experience.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with specific substitutions allowed for college education.
