About the position

The Applications Development Engineer at KLA is responsible for developing and implementing product applications for existing and pre-release products, ensuring maximum value for customers. This role involves supporting new product introductions, conducting product demonstrations, and providing technical training. The engineer will work closely with software and systems engineering teams to resolve issues and document findings, contributing to the overall success of KLA's semiconductor manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement product applications for existing and pre-release products.
  • Support new product introduction projects including characterization, alpha testing, beta testing, and pilot tools.
  • Assist in system development at customer sites as needed.
  • Perform product diagnosis and problem resolution, collaborating with software and systems engineering teams.
  • Conduct customer product demonstrations and provide technical training, including on-site training for Field Applications Engineers and end users.
  • Document test results and lessons learned in Best Known Methods (BKMs), training documents, and reports.
  • Generate demo and test reports for internal and customer review.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive projects independently.
  • Minimum qualifications include a Master's Level Degree with 0 years of related work experience or a Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Familiarity with optical inspection systems and metrology products.
