About the position

As an Applications Development Engineer in the Surfscan group at KLA, you will play a pivotal role in the characterization of next-generation semiconductor wafer inspection products. Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing feature requirements, designing test plans, collecting data, performing analysis, and publishing results and recommendations in the form of application notes and best-known methods. You will also conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase differentiated performance and develop use cases on new features that help drive tool sales. This position is crucial for product value demonstration during beta testing, head-to-head evaluations, and ramp phases, enabling product penetration and adoption at customer sites. In addition to these responsibilities, you will investigate semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and develop corresponding inspection solutions to monitor them. You will create and share product value statements and use cases with engineering, marketing, and sales groups, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed about the product's capabilities and advantages. A background in optics and semiconductor processing knowledge will be beneficial in this role, as it will enhance your ability to understand and address the technical challenges faced by our customers. Responsibilities

  • Characterization of next-generation semiconductor wafer inspection products.

Requirements

  • PhD Level Degree and/or Master's Level Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to develop and review feature requirements and design test plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Optics background is a plus.
  • Semiconductor processing knowledge is a plus.
