About the position

As an Applications Engineer 1, you will provide equipment technical expertise and sales support in the rental equipment and operations division. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the engineering field. You will assist in the design and development of equipment and systems, collaborating closely with multiple disciplines to fulfill customer needs. Your role will involve specification review from contractors and engineers, as well as developing specifications for equipment to be sent to customers and fabricators. In this position, you will be responsible for document preparation, maintenance, and review, including technical drawings and P&IDs. You will also engage in budget and firm bid proposal review and preparation, as well as prepare cost estimates. Your analytical skills will be put to use in calculating and interpreting basic project-related calculations and responding to technical clarifications from customers. Continuous improvement of job functions and processes will be a key focus, as will collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Agent to develop effective sales strategies. You will conduct technical sales presentations and communicate project details to Project Managers and Designers, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned with customer expectations. Responsibilities

  • Provide equipment technical expertise and sales support in the rental equipment and operations division.
  • Assist in the design and development of equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple disciplines to fulfill the needs of the customer.
  • Review specifications from contractors and engineers and develop specifications for equipment to be sent to customers/fabricators.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review documents including technical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Review and prepare budget and firm bid proposals.
  • Prepare cost estimates for projects.
  • Calculate and interpret basic project-related calculations and respond to technical clarifications from customers.
  • Make continuous improvements with job functions and processes.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Agent to develop a sales strategy.
  • Conduct technical sales presentations and meet with customers.
  • Communicate project details to Project Managers and Designers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0-1 or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
  • Strong math skills.
  • General understanding of chemistry and physics.
  • Excellent computer skills.
