About the position

As an Applications Engineer on the Customer Success team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful transitions of new products and technologies with our customer teams. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge storage technologies while collaborating with various internal teams. Your primary responsibility will be to drive all technical aspects of customer qualification engagements, which involves replicating, analyzing, and developing solutions in partnership with internal engineering teams to address customer issues effectively. You will be tasked with running tests in customer environments to validate drive and system compatibility, assisting in resolving post-qualification technical issues, and creating and presenting technical information to internal teams. Additionally, you will work closely with the customer account team to solidify feedback into future product requirements and coordinate activities across different organizations to ensure that customer deliverables meet expectations. This role requires a demonstrated ability to work across multiple organizations to achieve deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction. You will need to exhibit a high level of personal follow-through on commitments and possess the flexibility to work hours that support our worldwide customers, factories, and design centers. Effective written and oral communication skills are essential to develop trust between Seagate and its customers, along with a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all technical aspects of customer qualification engagements.
  • Replicate, analyze, and develop solutions in concert with internal engineering teams to address customer issues.
  • Run tests in customer environments to validate drive/system compatibility.
  • Assist in post-qualification customer technical issues.
  • Create and present technical information to internal teams.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience testing and resolving concurrent, complex highly technical issues.
  • Project management and tracking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, data science/analytics, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering design experience.
  • Experience dealing with external customers or suppliers.
  • Programming experience.
  • Experience with SATA, SAS, and NVMe interfaces and bus analyzers.
  • Storage system level experience.
