About the position

The Applications Engineer I at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is responsible for providing technical support for applications related to metrology, including product demonstrations, functionality assessments, and performance evaluations. This role involves quoting and managing contract programming tasks, as well as conducting product training to ensure customer satisfaction and effective use of products.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic hardware and software product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes to prospective and existing customers
  • Effectively communicate product benefits for complex applications
  • Assist regional sales team in providing product recommendations for customers' applications
  • Prepare operating instructions and conduct training programs to meet customers' needs
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations
  • Develop programs/applications that effectively accomplish customer specifications/objectives
  • Consult with customers and incorporate needs and feedback into application designs
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Ensure programs/applications work properly after maintenance and testing
  • Analyze and edit existing programs/applications as needed to optimize performance
  • Take a challenging issue from problem statement through to resolution and follow-up
  • Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing groups on product development projects
  • Learn from and study experienced Applications Engineers' techniques and work
  • Remain current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking before small groups
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Creative, analytical, and driven
  • Works under close direction as well as in a team environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 0-2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar environment
