This position involves providing exceptional engineering support, developing code examples, and creating comprehensive technical documentation for our Internet of Things (IoT) products. Our portfolio includes advanced multi-protocol wireless System on Chips (SoCs) and 32-bit ARM Cortex-based Microcontrollers (MCUs), designed to simplify design efforts, reduce Bill of Materials (BOM) costs, and accelerate time to market for a variety of industrial and communications applications. Our Wireless portfolio features a diverse range of transceivers and wireless MCUs tailored for applications such as Sub-GHz and 2.4 GHz proprietary wireless, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and IEEE802.15.4 mesh networking. These devices are engineered to meet the demands of modern IoT solutions, ensuring robust performance and seamless integration. The Mass Market Applications Engineering team serves as the critical link between our innovative products and our customers' success. Our primary function is to support rapid prototyping and development, enabling customers to bring their systems to life using our cutting-edge products. As product experts, we are dedicated to providing exceptional technical support and contributing to a rich knowledge base and technical documentation. In this role, you will leverage your RF hardware and embedded programming skills while working with our advanced wireless and MCU products. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our products by supporting customers as they design and build connected systems.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with customers to answer technical questions related to their design activities, primarily through Silicon Labs' public and private support systems.
  • Work closely with the sales team and field application engineers to address customers' technical inquiries and assist with debugging issues.
  • Occasionally deliver training materials for Silicon Labs' global sales and field engineers to enhance their technical knowledge.
  • Create and maintain technical collateral, including knowledge base articles, quick start guides, and code examples.
  • Continuously improve the utility and ease of use of the technical collateral available on our public website.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical or computer engineering fundamentals and methodologies.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with RF hardware and advanced wireless concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of RF technology concepts such as antennas, beamformers, filters, matching networks, antenna radiation patterns, sensitivity, diversity, power loss, and gain.
  • Familiarity with various types of antennas and their applications.
  • Experience in the design, simulation, and testing of matching networks for antennas designed for ISM bands (Sub-GHz and 2.4GHz).
  • Technical knowledge of analog and digital circuits, including MCU core and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C++.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
