About the position

The Applications Engineer I position at Franklin Electric is responsible for providing timely and accurate quotations for Line Shaft Turbine, Submersible Turbine, and packaged systems. This role involves collaboration with value centers and field sales to understand market demands and customer expectations, ensuring a high level of detail and urgency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide concise and professional submittal packages that optimize designs based on a specific project's requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to internal and external sales personnel and customers as needed to support relationships and growth.
• Work with suppliers and a purchasing team to obtain best cost for nonstock items.
• Achieve margin, sales, and growth targets.
• Maintain quote logs (Wins & Losses).
• Quote, enter and track both new applications and pump repairs.
• Manage and prioritize multiple, concurrent high spec projects.
• Receive customer purchase orders.
• Role can include other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years related experience in pump sales and service.
• Knowledge of pump construction, various metallurgies, and hydraulics.
• Strong math and engineering skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once and review technical specifications and contracts.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Ability to lead group meetings and teams on projects as required.
• Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate on-call assignments as required.

Nice-to-haves

• Engineering or Advanced technical degree.
• Experience with Drawing software such as Solid Works or similar.
• Excellent in MS Office applications.
• ERP and related experience.
