About the position

The Applications Engineer III role at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence involves working on a variety of applied engineering projects, particularly in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). The primary focus is to assist software customers in solving real-world problems and improving efficiency through the use of Hexagon's software products. This position requires collaboration with Account Managers to achieve technical wins that drive business success, while also providing training and support to customers in their product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with all Hexagon D&E Software portfolio
  • Intermediate to Advance knowledge to 3-4 assigned software product(s)
  • Apply sound engineering theory to solution development
  • Provide engineering proof to support the analytical results
  • Develop scripts (as needed) to support problem statement or to support workflow efficiency
  • Develop final report summarizing problem, solution and benefits
  • Performs technical support activities in support of Sales efforts

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum five years in engineering experience; ten or more years preferred
  • Knowledge of one or more of Hexagon software products preferred, such as Simufact, Cradle, or Adams
  • Basic programming skills needed; proficiency in Python programming preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills for client liaison, proposal preparation, project planning, report writing, and presentation of results
  • Strong project management skills
  • Expertise in numerical simulation and Finite Element methods
  • Some experience with manufacturing simulation methods
  • Mentoring skills for less senior staff to provide solution advice and project guidance
  • Ability to work on-site at client facilities with minimal supervision
