About the position

The Applications Engineering Intern/Co-Op position at JR Automation offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing an engineering degree to gain hands-on experience in the automation industry. Interns will work closely with experienced Applications Engineers, contributing to the design, build, and deployment of custom automated solutions for various industries. This role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and innovation, allowing interns to engage directly with customers and vendors while developing their technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Applications Engineers in designing custom automation lines for customers.
• Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to brainstorm automation solutions.
• Create CAD models and conduct automation timing studies.
• Prepare quote materials for customers and communicate directly with them to gather requirements.
• Reach out to vendors for product quotes and expertise.
• Develop, build, and present an intern project to management.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
• Basic proficiency in CAD.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
