About the position

The Applications Engineer Internship at JR Automation offers students the opportunity to assist and support experienced Applications Engineers in designing and deploying custom automated solutions. Interns will collaborate with various engineering teams, gaining hands-on experience in the automation industry while contributing to real projects that drive technological innovation.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of applications engineers to design custom automation lines for customers nationwide in a variety of industries.
• Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to brainstorm and vet automation solutions, while learning about the automation industry.
• Create CAD models, conduct automation timing studies, and prepare quote materials for customers.
• Communicate directly with customers to gather requirements, show concept designs, and guide them through the automation process.
• Reach out to vendors for product quotes and subject matter expertise.
• Develop, build, and present an intern project to general management and applications team.

Requirements

• High School graduate, or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic proficiency in CAD.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
