About the position

The Applications Engineer position in Cleveland, Ohio, involves administering, managing, and troubleshooting client management and software distribution systems. This role is crucial for ensuring optimal functionality of servers and clients within a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily administration of System Center Configuration Manager 2012 environment, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting clients.
• Manage and troubleshoot software distributions, deployment, and clients.
• Monitor performance, identify problems, and implement solutions for optimal functionality of all servers and clients.
• Manage monthly patching cycle for software updates including Microsoft and other 3rd party software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of SCCM client, Server logs, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Windows 7 and Windows 8 desktop operating systems with an understanding of troubleshooting tools and utilities.
• Ability to write ad-hoc reports using Microsoft Reporting Services and ability to run standard reports using the SCCM reporting feature.
• Strong experience in Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Windows 7/8, Microsoft Office.
• Experience with registry and file monitoring tools.
• A strong desire to learn new technology.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional System Center Experience (including System Center Virtual Machine Manager, Operations Manager) is desirable.
