About the position

The Applications Engineering Manager at API Heat Transfer is responsible for leading the Applications Engineering department, ensuring optimal use of resources while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role involves a mix of hands-on engineering tasks and team management, focusing on continuous improvement and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate Applications Engineering activities to ensure robust customer experience.
• Coach and develop the Applications Engineering team, providing guidance and leadership.
• Collaborate with Sales, Project and Product Managers, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure successful project completion.
• Manage the department budget and ensure development within defined parameters.
• Develop measurements, processes, and tools for continuous improvement to drive productivity.
• Work collaboratively with customers across various markets including Process & Industrial, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and HVAC.
• Utilize API software and vendor material quotes for sizing, selection, and cost estimating.
• Generate cost estimates and quotations, facilitating the award of new business.
• Review purchase orders and resolve discrepancies to process orders accurately.
• Utilize the ERP system for order processing and meet department objectives and KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in Applications Engineering Management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong self-starting, accountable, and customer-focused leadership skills.
• Analytical and solution-focused with experience in applying technical and continuous improvement tools.
• Familiarity with heat exchanger industry is preferred.
