About the position

The Applications Engineer for PFAS Solutions at Ovivo is responsible for leading the development and design of Foam Fractionation systems aimed at treating per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water. This role involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to create effective and safe solutions, while also managing technical aspects of the projects. The position is based in Salt Lake City or Austin, TX, and offers a hybrid working model with expected domestic travel of 20-35%.

Responsibilities

• Manage key process-related technical aspects within a multi-disciplinary team for the development and commercialization of PFAS treatment solutions.
• Develop and direct laboratory and field demonstrations of foam fractionation processes and products.
• Establish design methods, sizing, and costing programs for foam fractionation systems.
• Check calculations, models, layouts, detailed drawings, specifications, and instructions prepared by drafters/designers and other engineers.
• Direct the execution of design projects and provide technical support to shop and field start-up services.
• Write technical papers and reports and present findings at local and national conferences.
• Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and develop responses to RFP/RFQs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university.
• 2-5+ years of process engineering-related experience in the water/wastewater/waste/landfill leachate industry in North America.
• Experience with PFAS, waste industry, or leachate is preferred.
• Specific experience troubleshooting and/or operating pilot equipment systems.
• Professional Engineering Registration preferred (CPEng, RPEQ, or equivalent).
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to complex situations.
