About the position

The Senior Applications Engineer will provide enterprise IT infrastructure and legacy applications maintenance support to an Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This role involves operations and maintenance, enhancements to legacy applications, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. The engineer will design, develop, document, test, and debug software systems while collaborating with various stakeholders to meet project requirements and improve system capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operations and maintenance support for enterprise IT infrastructure and legacy applications.
  • Enhance legacy applications by implementing bug fixes and new functionalities.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to gather project requirements and limitations.
  • Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform software engineering and development activities to support and enhance software systems.
  • Develop and integrate bug fixes and new feature enhancements using standard development tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience, or 10 years with MS/MA, or 7 years with PhD.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Java, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with AWS services like EC2 and S3.
  • Understanding of network administration and security protocols.
  • Experience with Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Law Enforcement applications.
  • Experience within IC, DoD, DHS, or FBI security domains.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $176,000 - $282,000 based on experience and other factors.
