About the position

The Applications Engineer at Aehr Test Systems will provide critical applications support in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment Industry, focusing on Test Cell Integration, Test Program Development, and troubleshooting complex operational issues. This role involves interfacing with both internal and external customers to enhance product performance and deliver technical training, ensuring effective communication of hardware and software requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide applications support including Test Cell Integration and Test Program Development, Debugging, and Qualification.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to identify and troubleshoot a wide range of complex operational issues.
  • Advise and consult with customers on specific technical projects, including implementation.
  • Provide pre/post-sales support including technical presentations, customer demos, and integration with customer equipment.
  • Communicate with customers and peers to define hardware and software requirements.
  • Act as intermediary and field escalation focal point between customer and departments, providing technical support and documentation.
  • Implement the Field Change Order (FCO) for new software, firmware, and hardware releases.
  • Deliver customer technical training classes, Operations, and Programming.

Requirements

  • BSEE with 7 to 10+ years of experience in application and technical support in relevant fields such as ATE, Prober, WLBI, and/or Package Device Burn-in Systems.
  • Keen understanding of device test techniques and methodology, particularly design for test (DFT) and structural tests such as Scan/ATPG, JTAG, and memory BIST.
  • Proficiency in Java, Visual Basic, C++, and Linux environment.
  • Experience in production optical metrology systems and optics alignment.
  • Understanding of system control software and ability to work with software engineers to troubleshoot.
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tech-Writing skills and Trainer experiences are a plus.
  • On-site Support Experiences are a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a multi-lingual and culturally diverse environment.
