About the position

The Applications Engineer at Actalent is responsible for engaging with customers during the pre-sales process, leading the development of custom-designed products and services. This role involves collaborating with various internal departments and sales teams to identify customer requirements and deliver tailored solutions that drive revenue growth. The engineer will also provide technical support, manage project timelines, and assist in quoting activities to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for customer facing activities in the pre-sales scoping process
• Lead solutioning for custom designed products and services
• Collaborate and bridge the gap between customers, sales, sales operations, and other internal departments
• Interface with customers, identify requirements and needs to develop differentiated solutions
• Collaborate with sales to provide technical support, secure design wins, and drive revenue growth
• Prepare and design customer solutions based on application requirements
• Perform on and off-site customer consultation when requested
• Present concepts to customers and/or sales channels in support of pre-sales activities
• Support quoting activities with product configurations, cost analysis, and specification review
• Assist in project management ensuring timely follow-up and follow through on all assigned tasks & projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline required
• 2+ years' experience in application solutions (Co/ops or internships suffice)
• Proficient in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD Software
• Previous experience supporting a manufacturing company
• Comfortable working with people
