About the position

DISH, an EchoStar company, is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our Manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our groundbreaking products meet the high standards of innovation and performance that we pride ourselves on. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing software for new and existing test applications on the Operations floor using various programming languages, including LabVIEW, C#, and Python. The position requires a strong understanding of SQL for querying, updating, and inserting records into multiple databases that house our test and process application data. In addition to software development, the role involves testing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining software from third-party vendors for specific device test applications. The candidate will also be tasked with debugging and repairing electronic test equipment, supporting the launch of new products and processes, and developing and documenting process steps and controls. This includes specifying and designing new equipment or tooling as needed and generating databases to track key metrics. The Software Developer will research, evaluate, and integrate new automation equipment and processes, such as robotics, vision systems, and smart conveyors. Interpreting test results, comparing them to established specifications and control limits, and making recommendations on the appropriateness of data for release are also key responsibilities. The role requires identifying quality problems, tracking them down to their root cause, and recommending solutions. Collaboration with facilities personnel during installation, maintenance, and testing activities is essential to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. The candidate will also be expected to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with engineering partners and customers, presenting information to leadership, public groups, and boards of directors as necessary.
